Bard on the Beach: Twelfth Night

aeggieBard

Last week, pb & I went to see Twelfth Night at Bard on the Beach! 😀 Now in its 24th season, Bard on the Beach is “one of Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festivals” (see About the Festival)!

Twelfth Night is one of my all-time favourite Shakespeare plays, because of the romantic confusion & comedy!  I loved watching this play in the open-ended Mainstage tent on Vancouver’s waterfront, at Bard’s site in Vanier Park! The natural backdrop (as you can see a little bit of in my photo above) is absolutely gorgeous!  The actors all gave stellar performances, but my faves of the night had to be the funny Feste (the fool) & the hilariously pitiful Malvolio (Olivia’s steward)! All in all, it was a very enjoyable performance.

I’ll definitely be back for more Bard in upcoming seasons! 😀
